GROMA247 Branderkennung GmbH grew out of an engineering office specialising in early fire detection, and the technology has the awards to show for it: the Edison Prize for Innovation and the 120 Sekunden Business Idea Award. Their 5A infrared camera system tells a genuine fire source from a false alarm even under extreme heat. None of which helps when the shredding operation moves to the other end of the site and the cameras stay where they were installed.
