A monitored site is a promise that somebody sees it. Between the fence and that promise sit three things: a camera, a power source and a radio link. The weakest of the three sets the service level, and on a remote site it is almost always the link.

At head height a modem antenna competes with everything standing on the ground. Parked vehicles, stacked pallets, containers, hedgerows, the site cabin that arrived last week. Signal that read as workable at midday on an empty plot behaves differently once the plot fills up, and the client never hears about it until an operator reports a dropped stream. Twenty feet up the antenna clears most of that clutter, and it sits on the same mast as the camera it serves.

Power is the other half of the same problem. Detector activated CCTV wakes on an event and sleeps in between. Remote CCTV monitoring transmits, and transmission is a continuous load on a location that has no socket within 1,300 ft. That single difference decides whether a deployment lasts a weekend or a year, and it belongs in the platform choice rather than in the post mortem.

Yes, and that is the point of the model. The platform ships without cameras, sensors, recorders or antennas, so your VMS, your analytics and your alarm receiving centre stay exactly as they are.
