In the same study 54 percent of organisations could not recover half of their stolen high value equipment, the average hunt for a missing asset ran to 25 days, and 37 percent of firms in the UK and Ireland saw insurance premiums rise as a direct result of theft losses. A missing tool store stops being a site problem and becomes a renewal conversation.<\/p>\n<p>Then the odds shift. DeterTech reported in 2026 that a location targeted once is highly likely to be targeted again, because the weakness is now known and shared. That is exactly where fixed infrastructure struggles. A trenched camera position cannot follow the risk to the corner where the last load went over the fence.
